T-Mobile’s newly released G1 Mobile Phone is loaded with many features such as a QWERTY Keyboard, and their One-Touch Google Search application. It's a BEAST. Question is, can it stand up to the IPhone, and show Apple that they can't be the kings of the mobile world forever?

Having been an iPhone 3G owner since July, I was prepared to not be too impressed with theT-Mobile G1, the very first mobile phone to use Google's Android software as its operating system.

Now this is pretty cool what CNET have done, we would have done something similar if we had our hands on the T-Mobile G1.

Just when I’ve settled down with my iPhone 3G however along comes another gadget that gets my attention - the HTC TMobile G1.

The phone itself is ugly and quirky, but the 3G network speed (when you can get it) is speedier than AT&T;'s and the Android operating system is a terrific start for an open-source smartphone standard.

It's a bit raw, and the clunky hardware isn't too inspiring, but the Android-powered G1 is the first touchscreen handset I've seen that's a true iPhone competitor—and a good one.

Apple's super successful iPhone revitalized the touch-screen and spawned a host of knock offs along the way. One word makes T-Mobile's offering stand from the rest as a serious competitor: Google.

For those of you who did not get a chance to pre-order the T-Mobile G1 and still would like to get your hands on it at least a few hours early, then today is your lucky day.
