Apple sold 6.9 Million iPhones last quarter, worth $806 million in revenue. If it wasn't deferred over 12 months, this would now represent 39% of Apple's overall revenue. It's clear that Apple is now a communications company, not a computer company. Amazingly, iPhone is now outselling RIM. Over 200 Million apps have been downloaded in just 102 days

Apple announced its Q4 2008 financial results today, and revealed that it has already met its goal of selling 10 million iPhones in the calendar year of 2008 with several months to go.
Apple said Tuesday that fourth-quarter profits rose more than 26 percent to $1.14 billion, or $1.26 per diluted share, on sales of $7.9 billion for the three-month period ended September 27, 2008. The company sold 2,611,000 Macs, 11,052,000 iPods, and 6,892,000 iPhones during the quarter.
